Carlisle ramekin from The Hundred-Foot Journey seen with Manish Dayal (Hassan Haji)
Becoming a Trendy Chef: A Michelin star restaurant led by Madam Mallory (Helen Mirren) gets some unexpected competition when a homey Indian restaurant opens up 100 feet away. While the impossibly chic Mallory butts heads with the new restaurant's owner, she notices amazing potential in the owner's son, Hassan Haji (Manish Dayal). Dressed in casual clothes as a chef, Hassan soon becomes bewitches by Mallory's French cuisine and kitchen. Of course, the cute Parisian sous chef is also partly to blame.
For chef Hassan Haji (Manish Dayal), the literal journey from homey Indian kitchen to Michelin starred work may only be 100 feet but other changes occur on a much grander scale. Case in point: his wardrobe. As Hassan studies French cuisine and techniques, his limp, faded polos and bomber jackets give way to sleek collared shirts, waxed jackets, and crisp white chef uniforms. It's a change that both suits him and catches Marguerite's eye.
