Jeffrey Kurland (Costume Designer) and Dennis Kim (Tailor) black waistcoat from Inception seen with Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur)
The Alarmist: Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) are not your average corporate spies, moving effortlessly in their suits and ties through the dreams of their targets. Though they normally steal secrets and information, a leading Japanese businessman Saito (Ken Watanabe) recruits them to plant an idea in a rival, a much harder challenge. With a team that needs training and an "inception" to pull off, the three not only experience and engineer spectacular dream landscapes but also show off threads worthy of recurring dreams. Case in point? The midnight blue gown Cobb’s wife Mal (Marion Cotillard) wears to sabotage one of Cobb’s plans.
Moving from dream layer to dream layer requires complicated logistics, and that’s where Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) comes in. With a penchant for vests, whether they be sleek black numbers or casual tan colors, he is all business. The best part about his wardrobe? When those vests are paired with pricey suits, including a fantastic, well-tailored black number worn for the inception.
